ABS Automation is contracted to work with an Award-Winning International Display Company. This is a one story, one building project. The building is greater than 40,000 square feet.

ABS managed the building automation project for our client on a short deadline, tight specification, and with multiple trade firms working concurrently. Contractors involved in updating the client’s building automation systems included the mechanical contractor, engineering firm, general contractor, and electrical subcontractor. ABS coordinated these teams to ensure that the stringent specifications are met for this project. The project had a plethora of systems that had to be connected and optimized, including:

  • Humidifiers
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Boilers
  • Rooftop Chillers
  • Exhaust Equipment
  • Chilled Water and Process Water Systems
  • Heating Hot Water System
  • CRAC (Computer Room A/C)
  • VAV and FPB Systems (Variable Air Volume and Fan Powered Box)
  • Clean Room and Lab Room Controls
  • Pressure Monitoring
  • Leak Detection

ABS provided the client with many different automation services to streamline workflow and provide a user friendly interface for their clients. Specific components of the implementation were centralized communication workstation with graphic user interface, fabricating and installing custom control panel enclosures. ABS updated the client’s cold and hot water systems, exhaust equipment, and computer room air conditioning. Our team also programmed the client’s variable air volume and fan powered box systems, clean room and lab room controls, pressure monitoring, and leak detection systems.

The building automation project was able to save the client more than 30 percent in energy savings as well as software savings due to Distech’s open protocol. The cost savings in turn allow the client to invest more in R&D, the core component in their fast-growing company.
