Variable frequency drives (VFD) help your building save money and increase efficiency by controlling the amount of frequency and voltage supplied to electric motors. Some applications do not need the electric motor to run at full speed. In cases such as these, a VFD can be used to decrease the frequency and voltage, to that which is needed to run the electric motor.
