The client is a fragrance development center for commercial, creative, R&D, and corporate teams. They utilize fragrance creation and extraction technologies within their facility to mix precious and essential oils that appeal to the consumer markets. ABS was brought as an expert in this project through a positive existing relationship with the General Contractor and our many years of experience with this type of facility control.
As a fragrance development center, the air in the client’s headquarters must be continually replenished with 100% fresh air for an odor-free fragrance creation environment. The organization needed a specialized team who would be able to work to meet unique challenges in building automation and air filtration. The project was to be completed in several phases and required a seamless installation and testing process to minimize downtime for business operations.
ABS has prior experience with fragrance testing and processing plants, giving our team a competitive advantage in designing the best system for the client. Our engineering and installation teams completed a seamless installation and testing process, so that the 26 sensory booths and candle burning room could begin operation in an abbreviated time frame. Our team was awarded the contract for the second and third floors, as well as the contract to fabricate a boiler control panel for a scheduled replacement. All projects were completed on time and within budget and also segued into putting a preventative maintenance agreement in place.
The facility’s heating, cooling, and air exchange are now automated to the standards of a high-tech processing plant, with all fragrances and scents being filtered out rapidly and continuously. We were able to save the customer from experiencing delays and costs by coordinating installation and scheduling with the mechanical contractor to avoid trade issues.
